Today I went on the longest run of my training program (T-minus 1 month to running the marathon in Madrid).
So I decided to mix things up and run around the airport. Which is pretty cool since I got to see planes landing and taking off.
And it got me thinking about the people inside the planes. Every day, millions of people take a plane to go on vacation with their families.
And when it’s your turn, it’s exciting.
You know you’re going to have a good time, spending time with your family, relaxing. Those are the precious moments you make memories for the rest of your lifetime.
It’s the stories you tell your friends years after they’ve happened.
Like taking your kids to the beach or a theme park. Or exploring the beauties of the Amalfi coast, the ancient ruins in Athens, or climbing mountains.
Most people wait all year to take that vacation.
And when it’s over and it’s time to get back to the office, you can’t help feeling a little sad it didn’t last longer.
But here’s the good news:
You can make those little moments every day, every week.
All you need to do is be there for them.
To be home earlier so you can play with your kids.
Or prepare your kid’s or partner’s favorite meal.
To have a 2-hour lunch with a college friend you haven’t seen in decades who happens to be in town.
Take on a new hobby.
Even run for 3 hours, if that’s your thing.
When you’re working, work.
But leave when you want to, without feeling guilty.
Life happens outside the office.
P.S.
Next Thursday, I’m opening the doors to my new program 5 PM Freedom.
The goal is to help you finally get home by 5 PM without dropping the ball at work.
One spot has been taken so there are now only 9 spots left.
Want to get the details before everyone else and secure your spot? Reply “Outside” to this email and I’ll send them to you right now.
