A few months, I hired a personal trainer.
Now, every Tuesday and Thursday, I work out for 1 hour. I show up, he tells me the exercises, and I do them. Simple.
Couldn’t I just do this by myself? Absolutely.
This year, I want to be in the best shape of my life.
Having a personal trainer ensures it will become a reality.
Because he knows the best exercises for my body shape and needs. The number of repetitions I need to do. The amount of weight and how it should progress week-to-week.
Takes data every month so we can see my improvement.
And it forces me to show up. Knowing you have someone waiting for you is powerful. Accountability works.
(if you ever went to the gym by yourself and stopped going after a few weeks, you know this is true)
Here’s the truth:
A good coach turns your goals into reality.
Draws a plan, helps you with execution, and walks with you along the path.
A performance coach is no different.
You spend a third to a half of your days working. It’s where you spend the majority of your time. Why shouldn’t you get help from a professional?
(I’m baffled why more companies don’t work with a performance coach, but that’s for another day)
I help you get from A to B faster while making the journey more enjoyable.
I’ve worked with clients who want to stop leaving work late every day so they can spend time with their families.
Clients who want to be promoted faster, so they make more money to provide a better life for their family.
Clients who want to grow their business so they can hire other people and finally stop working 80+ hour weeks so that they can see their kids.
And clients who want to train for a marathon, bike with friends after work, or have time to redo their house.
What you want doesn’t matter. Where you start doesn’t matter either.
What matters is that you have the humility to seek and accept professional help.
Because most times, it’s a mindset problem.
I see it all the time with potential clients.
They know they need help (because they tell me so). And they see how it would improve their life (because again they tell me so, in those words). But somehow they can’t bring themselves to do it.
I can’t help someone like that.
As much as my trainer can’t force me to lift weights.
It’s a mindset problem.
When you know what you want, you understand that professionals can help you get where you want faster.
So I ask you…
What do you want?
What’s just not working for you?
Hit reply and let me know.
P.S.
