How to Segment Your Day To Be More Productive
When you have a lot to do, a day can feel like a year.
Rather than thinking of it as a 24-hour chunk of time, break it down into smaller chunks of time and go from there.
#1 Break It Down
An easy way to break your day down is to use your meal and work schedule as points of segmentation.
Separate it into these 7 parts:
Morning before work
Morning work until lunchtime
Lunch
Afternoon work until the end of the workday
Dinner
After dinner until bedtime
Sleep
#2 The Plan
The segments allow you to plan each part of your day individually.
This is important because it prevents your whole day from going off the rails just because one part of it didn’t go as planned.
It offers you seven chances to reset and regroup throughout the day.
It also simplifies the planning, because the smaller the chunk of time, the easier it is to manage and measure.
Try this out tomorrow.
You probably already have a to-do list written up, so just divvy up your tasks and get ready to work.
