How to Get All Your ʺRead Laterʺ in One Place
How can you quickly collect and save information on a website? Are you still using copy/paste?
Evernote Web Clipper is a simple web extension that allows you to save sites, articles, screenshots, and important emails.
I use it heavily to store articles that I want to read later.
Here‘s how to do it:
Install the Extension Get Evernote Web Clipper from Chrome/Firefox by going to Settings > Extensions > Get more extensions > search for Evernote > Add to Chrome. Then login if you already have an account or register if you don‘t
Create a Notebook Go into Evernote web/desktop app and create a new notebook where you‘ll save all the articles. Mine‘s called "Read Later"
Start Clipping When you find a page you want to save, click the elephant button in your browser toolbar to launch Web Clipper. Select a clip type. I recommend using the simplified article view, to save just text and images without all the extra clutter. The annotation and highlight features are also useful to point out just what you wanted to remember on a page. For example, if you select to screenshot, you can select an Annotate tool to highlight and add visual symbols, such as arrows, to point out design elements you like
All the articles that you want to read later are now saved into your Evernote and you can read them when you have some free time. Better yet, everything is formatted the same way and without ads or other distractions!
Happy clipping ;)
