Did you know you have an evil twin?
I've got big news for you: procrastination is not solved with a set of predetermined strategies.
Hey,
Dan here ;)
I’ve got something big to tell you:
Productivity tactics are great and I am a big believer in them.
But they are not the be-all-end-all.
I used to think so and I was very surprised when I found myself procrastinating anyway.
Over the last 10 years, I have tried a lot of productivity strategies and systems and even built my own productivity framework, but procrastination is always a recurring problem.
Eat that frog, the Pomodoro technique, the Eisenhower matrix, morning rituals…
The two-minute rule, time blocking, deep work, the flow state stages, GTD…
Have I bored you already?
I'm sure you found some of these online.
They ALL work.
But for some reason, they didn't for you, or you didn't get the effect you expected.
And here’s why:
You looked at procrastination the wrong way all your life.
Contrary to what you might believe, procrastination is not solved with a set of predetermined strategies.
There is not a one size fits all solution and that’s why you need to understand how you procrastinate and how to beat it for you.
Once you understand what makes you tick and the strategies to deal with your type of procrastination, you will have an easier time focusing on what matters.
I’ve created a simple and short quiz (it’s 5 questions and takes less than 2 minutes) so you can discover what type of procrastinator you are.
Click here to find your type of procrastinator
As procrastinators, we spend hours— if not days— avoiding work. But when you're away for so long, your perception starts to change. And not in a good way.
You start to see work much harder than it really is. Or you forgot how rewarding it feels like getting things done.
But here’s the reality:
You do NOT need to force yourself to work.
You don't need any willpower other than the one you already have.
What’s important is to play to your strengths.
It makes it possible to make work fun again or, at least, get things done quickly without much thought.
Like I said…
You can only fix procrastination after you understand which procrastinator you are.
So take that first step to beat your evil twin…
And discover what type of procrastinating personality is REALLY controlling you…
Yours in productivity,
Dan
