A Clean Desk Equals a Productive Mind
Papers precariously stacked to the left, knick-knacks to the right, and you in the middle, completely distracted.

Here are four tips to declutter your workspace:
Focus on Functionality Clutter creates stimuli, which is bad for staying focused. You have to exert energy on navigating your space and while it’s fun to have a well-decorated space, you should keep it minimalist when it comes to your desk. Only keep items you use all the time, like pens and notebooks. This eliminates distractions
Organize Based on Your Work Style For example, if you have a task-based job, you might organize based on the tasks of your job, but if you are client/project-based, you could keep separate files
Have Multiple Screens Having a clean desk applies to your virtual one as well. Having double monitors allows you to have multiple applications running. This gives you more mental space as you can see everything that needs to be worked on, instead of constantly switching between applications
Adopt a “Desktop Zero” Habit Clutter isn’t always bad, but it can definitely distract you. Make a habit of cleaning up everything you don’t need at the end of a project. This way you can be messy while working, but can still ensure a clean desk (and a clean slate) at the end of it
