6 Decisions to Become More Productive

Copy my productivity system for Getting Things Done. Decades of research in a
timeless repeatable system.

The more we take ownership of our decisions, the more we get out of them.

With that in mind, here are six simple decisions we can make to become more productive in our life and work:

  1. Decide What Matters Productivity is about priorities. The more clearly we understand what matters, the more efficiently we can achieve it. Start by removing extra parts of your day, like checking social media frequently

  2. Decide What You Want to Accomplish There is a difference between things we do and things we accomplish. You must align your to-do list with your goals so you can accomplish things that matter, instead of just getting things done

  3. Decide When You Want to do Things Take control of your time and schedule things at times that make sense for you

  4. Decide How Much Time You Want to Spend Being Reactive Use your email and social media with intention. By limiting your time with these platforms, you are no longer reacting to other people’s input, but being proactive

  5. Decide When You Will Take a Break Breaks are productive, so be intentional and schedule them into your day

  6. Decide What You Will Let Slide We can’t do it all so it is important to be honest with ourselves about what we are willing to let go. The more honest we are, the easier it is to let things go and focus on things that matter
