Life has many in-between moments, where you find yourself waiting in line or commuting to work.

Instead of spending this time scrolling through social media or staring into space, you can put it towards having a more productive day:

#1 Have a set of relevant podcasts ready

Always have a set of podcasts downloaded for when you’re on the go so you don‘t have connectivity problems on the train.

#2 Have a list of articles ready to read

Use a tool like Pocket to bookmark and save interesting articles from Medium or elsewhere.

This way, you’ll avoid mindless scrolling and can fully take advantage of your reading time.

#3 Have a running list of 1-min tasks

Make that quick phone call to reserve a table, quickly cancel a subscription, unsubscribe from a few useless newsletters, or book that appointment — all in the 5 min waiting for your friend.

#4 Reply to messages

If you hate email and Whatsapp like I do, using lost time for catching up with messages is a win-win.

#5 Prepare for tasks

Spend this time mentally running through a presentation you have to give or reviewing notes.

Use it to think about the things you need to do and how you are going to do them
